Kate Ashmor has fifteen years of broad and diverse experience in legal practice.
Since 2014, Kate has developed an outstanding reputation for unrivalled personal service in the provision of legal advice for Victorian residential conveyancing, wills and powers of attorney. She has reviewed thousands of conveyancing contracts and acted for hundreds of diverse clients, in all aspects of residential property sales, purchases and ownership transfers. Kate is highly regarded for her attention to detail, “straight talking” and genuine care for her clients.
Prior to establishing her own law firm, Kate was the principal IP and IT legal advisor to Public Transport Victoria. Kate has extensive knowledge of trade marks, copyright and State Government contracting through five years of experience in State Government agencies, including VicTrack and the Department of Transport. Kate has previously worked as in-house legal advisor to Australia’s largest mortgage aggregator, Liberty Financial, and she commenced her career in private practice in the litigation team at renowned boutique firm Pointon Partners.
Kate is the Immediate Past Chairman of the board of Caulfield Park Bendigo Bank. She has served on a number of not-for-profits boards, including Alola Australia and Project Deborah, and is a Past Convenor of Victorian Women Lawyers (2010-2011) and a Past President of Australian Women Lawyers (2012-2013). Kate previously served as an elected Councillor in the City of Glen Eira (2005-2008).
Passionate about social media and blogging, Kate has previously been a regular columnist for the popular online magazine Women’s Agenda, along with various leading online publications, including Smart Company and Domain.
Kate is a proud board member of Caulfield Park Bendigo Bank, a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Victorian Women Lawyers, the National Council of Jewish Women and Friends of the Holocaust Centre.
Kate holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Monash University.
